Drew,
Thank you.

I'm just now putting the finishing touches on a basement work shop, so my days of working in a garage are over (if I can make the payments!).

Both Jeff and Glen are great people. I've never met Jeff, but I have talked to him a couple of times. I refer to his books on finishing all the time. Glen is not only a talented woodworker, he is also funny.
My stock was stored in the attached but unheated garage or the attic. Now it is stored in a detached garage. I have never had any problems with the humidity changes, nor rusting tools. Part of this may be because I work mostly with mahogany, which is a very stable wood.

Rob
I just signed up for your page. You are quite an inspiration to me.When I learned how you make such great furniture in an unheated garage shop, I thought, hey, that's me! Although I have managed to place items in a gallery, I really struggle with the craft at times. I'm self taught. Never been to a class. Learned a lot about finishing by sending Jeff Jewitt lots of emails. I am a big Glenn Huey fan. How do you deal with the temp changes/humidity in Ohio? Is your stock stored in the shop outside like mine is?

Up till now, I have been having mixed results sharpening card scrapers. Your video makes it about as plain as it can be. I can now consistently make nice shavings, even with the gooseneck scraper! Thanks for taking the time to put together these videos.

Really appreciated this video. I've been using a few different methods with mixed results. Following your video made it just as easy as can be.

Thanks again
